  MARIETTA CAMBARERI is Assistant Curator of Decorative Arts and Sculpture in the Department of the Art of Europe at the Museum of Fine Arts and is responsible for the collection of European Sculpture from the medieval period through 1955. She recieved her Ph.D. from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University in 1998. Her principal area of expertise is Italian Renaissance and early Baroque sculpture. She has taught at New York University and worked in various curatorial capacities in the Sculpture and Works of Art Department at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles. She is co-author of the Catalogue of Italian and Spanish Sculpture at the Getty Museum as well as a volume of Highlights of the Getty's European Sculpture collection and the author of numerous publications on Italian Renaissance and Baroque sculpture.
