  KIM RUANE is an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department at Tufts University. Kim received her Masters and Ph.D. in Mathematics from Florida State University. Kim has been at Tufts for three years and is one of two recipients of the 2003 Undergraduate Initiative in Teaching Award. Her area of mathematical research is Geometric Group theory. In this field, one studies rigid motions of certain kinds of geometries.
