  JOHN FYLER is a Professor of English at Tufts University. He is the author of two books on medieval literature and the classical tradition: Chaucer and Ovid appeared in 1979, and Language and the Declining World in Chaucer, Dante, and Jean de Meun in 2007. He has published a number of essays, and edited one of Chaucerís poems, The House of Fame, for the Riverside Chaucer. At Tufts, he is the English Department liaison for the M.A.T. program in the Education Department. He is also a lecturer at the Bread Loaf School of English, Middlebury College, where he has taught every summer but one since 1995.
