Juliet Schor
  JULIET SCHOR is Professor of Sociology at Boston College, and before that she was Senior Lecturer on Economics at Harvard University. Schorís latest book is Born to Buy: The Commercialized Child and the New Consumer Culture, for which she went "inside" the advertising agencies to uncover the tactics and practices industry is using to target children. Schor is also author of the national best-seller, The Overworked American: The Unexpected Decline of Leisure (Basic Books, 1992) and The Overspent American: Why We Want What We Donít Need. Schor teaches courses on consumer society and political economy. She is also a founding board member of The Center for a New American Dream, a national organization devoted to transforming Americans' lifestyles to make them socially and ecologically sustainable.
