Bringing Green to the Classroom

Gardening and kids are a natural fit. In this two-day class horticulturalist and meteorologist you will spend your time in the field (Weston Gardens, Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Lookout Farm, Arnold Arboretum) learning about all aspects green--from how to build a terrarium with your students to starting a garden for your school. We will explore growing your own food, making compost, ideal plants for the class, local flora, container gardening, how to start seeds, testing germination rates and a bit on meteorology, climate and plants.
