Blindspots: Navigating Around Bias in the Classroom

In this class we will explore how biases are formed around gender and race, how those biases present for teachers and students in classrooms and consider available resources to navigate around and within our biases. The sessions will investigate both personal and theoretical definitions of bias through activities, discussions, video segments and articles. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the impact of bias on themselves and on others. This judgment-free course is ideal for those just beginning to explore bias and for those with some experience who want to further their understanding of the topic.
