  Kristin Hissong
   
  KRISTIN HISSONG is Assistant Professor of Regional and Cultural Studies, Middle East and North Africa with the US Air Force Air War College at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL. completed her PhD with the Institute for Middle Eastern Studies at King’s College London where she focused on the development of nationalist narratives in French Protectorate Morocco and its impact on Jewish identity. Her research interests include nationalism and ethnicity studies, comparative religious studies, and anti- and post-colonialism studies in the MENA region. Her current work focuses on LGBTQ identity in the Arab world and gay Muslim identity in the West. Kristin holds a BA in History from Union College and MA in International Studies from the Korbel School at the University of Denver.
