"I am thoroughly enjoying the seminar, as I have the two previous seminar I've taken. In particular, I appreciate the opportunity to THINK without having to meet a standard, produce a product, make a lesson plan, etc. The intellectual freedom to explore ideas for the sake of exploration reenergizes me and gets me more excited about teaching. A seminar like this one reminds me why I became a teacher...because I am excited about ideas and I like to share that excitement with my students. In this standardized test driven environment in K-12 education now, a reminder that literature can be appreciated and discussed simply because it is interesting is refreshing."
